After seeing the last show on the Sunday, we went to the wrap parties for Crack and the Young Writers’ Festival. Both were a great time, and were a good send off to an excellent festival. The people of TiNA were a great bunch, performers, admin, and crowds alike. I’m not sure where Reb’s play will take her, but I wouldn’t hesitate to go back next year to check out the festival again. Thanks to all of the Crack team and everyone involved in bringing such a great group of people together!

Top Newcastle things besides the festival we experienced:

Merewether Baths - a bit over-photographed, but an awesome place to take a dip.

Honey Cafe - awesome little cafe in the main mall area of Newcastle, with great coffee.

Parry Street Garage - super hip restaurant in an amazing space and will excellent food.

Scotties Fish Cafe - fish and chip shop on Scott St, Newcastle. Reb didn’t like fish much before she went here, now she’s converted.

Meet - A Brazilian BBQ place with all you can eat meat. Servers walk around with massive skewers of juicy meat that they carve up at your table for you.

These Days - A great little bakery with some of the best sandwiches we’ve ever had.

CREAM on Hunter - Cool little clothing store, with awesome backpacks they’ve made from old button-ups.
